What do you have to do?
Apart from discovering how well your lawn looks; there are a number of things you need to do to optimise the lawn management programmes.
|
 |
Mow your lawn properly, above all never remove more than a third of its height in one go;
After we have applied fertiliser, weed controller or moss treatment please don ’t mow the lawn for at least three days;
Keep people and pets off the lawn for a reasonable time after a weed controller has been applied. Your Lawn Doctor representative will advise you. You don ’t need to worry about pets ingesting fertilisers as they are classified as non-hazardous. During drought it is very important to water your lawn if you want to prevent it turning brown or straw coloured;
The rate at which lawns absorb and lose water varies according to soil type etc. but as a rough guide they need about an inch of water a week and when there is no rain this means ensuring that every part of the lawn gets about an hour of watering with a sprinkler once a week (sprinklers vary in their flow rates) – it’s important to do this in one go, not a little and often;
In drought conditions let the grass grow to a higher level than normal to retain moisture;
You can also help by keeping a watchful eye on your lawn so you can assist us when we call on you. |
